, 5 minutes will take you on to sandy beaches, the length of your walk is your biggest decision, and there are numerous looped walks to suit all levels of fitness.
Mayo’s Coastline accounts for 16.8 percent of the total Irish coast and 16 percent of Ireland's sandy beaches, a fabulous days walking can be had travelling from beach to sandy beach. The beaches at Killadoon have been rated as the best beaches in Europe namely the Silver Strand and White Strand.
Mweelrea mountain is a totally different walking experience, reaching its peak will give you panoramic views of the Twelve Bens to the south, the Sheffry Hills to the east and Croagh Patrick to the North, all an option for your next day’s climb! This can be a difficult climb but guided walks can be arranged.
Killadoon as a walking destination is perfect; we can offer mountain and hill walking, coastal and Island walks all through unspoilt varied and rich landscapes. The most famous of our walks is of course Croagh Patrick; thousands of people each year, climb this holy mountain, this two hour climb is challenging but the views of Clew Bay are its own reward.
